Yet more outage woes at Proximus: TV and fixed and mobile internet all hit

Belgian telecoms operator Proximus experienced network problems for the second time in only a week today. Fortunately, the problems, blamed on a faulty router, were sorted around 2PM. Proximus customers reported problems with fixed and mobile internet use as well as TV.  The company that once enjoyed a telecom monopoly in Belgium confirmed there were issues. Only Monday there were major problems with the Proximus mobile network.

‘We have been experiencing problems with internet services since 11 am this morning. Some customers are experiencing difficulties when browsing or using interactive TV services,’ Proximus posted on social media.

‘Phone calls are working, and no general issues have been reported regarding live TV viewing. Our technical teams are doing everything they can to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. We understand that this is affecting our service and apologise for the inconvenience’ Proximus earlier posted online.

During Monday’s disruption at Proximus the mobile network was down for an hour and a half for around half of its customers due to an update of its systems. According to a Proximus spokesperson, there is no link to today’s disruption.
