Problems with Proximus’s mobile network have been resolved. The telecoms operator has announced its network is fully operationa once again, after it had been down for around an hour and a half, an outage affecting roughly half of its customers.
From 12.45 pm this afternoon onwards, many Proximus customers across Belgium were suddenly unable to make mobile calls or access the internet. The cause was a major technical issue on the telecom operator’s network. Around half of its customers were hit by the disruption. The issue was sorted around 2:30 pm. “Our technicians have identified and resolved the problem,” the company said.
Since 2:30 pm, mobile services have been available again everywhere.
If problems persist, switch briefly to flight mode Anyone still experiencing problems is advised to switch their phone to and from flight mode. This will allow the device to reconnect to the mobile network. The exact cause of the outage is believed to have been a ‘technical intervention’, which has since been reversed.
