The US ambassador in Belgium, Bill White, has now also lashed out at Belgian deputy premier Frank Vandenbroucke (Flemish socialist Vooruit). He was responding to an Instagram video in which Vandenbroucke supports Vooruit leader Conner Rousseau in the row with the ambassador. Rousseau earlier drew parallels between Nazi Germany and what is happening in Trump’s America.

In a manner, described as “very ‘Trump’-like”, White returns to the Agusta scandal, which involved the payment of bribes by Italian helicopter company Agusta in return for a Belgian government defence contract in the 90s of the previous century.
‘He refused to have anything to do with the money and advised to “burn the money”. FRANK BURNS THE MONEY,’ White says. "Vandenbroucke was not prosecuted, BUT conveniently took a voluntary “sabbatical”. The stink of corruption is real.‘
Rousseau also comes under fire again. ’He HAS been convicted of hate speech and racists (sic) statements and was also forced to resign in disgrace two years ago.'

Earlier, White also responded in an Instagram video from VRT young people’s news nws.nws.nws to statements made by Rousseau, in which he said that the Vooruit leader should no longer be allowed to enter the US until he retracted his allegations about President Trump.
