The former husband of a 51-year-old woman found dying on her drive in Zwijndrecht (Antwerp Province) yesterday has confessed. The woman met a violent death, her head having been beaten with a hard object.
The woman’s ex-husband was detained yesterday, and his home was searched and sealed. For several years the couple had been involved in difficult divorce proceedings.
Neighbours have now placed flowers outside the woman’s home. She was the mother of three children.
Refuse collection in the area remains disrupted. Police have been searching bins and refuse trucks for a possible murder weapon.
