Pupils from Belgian French-medium schools and French pupils have taken their protests against cuts to education funding to the streets of the Belgian and Flemish capital. Earlier high-schooler protests also reached the Walloon city of Liege.
A march of around 250 high-schoolers set off from Brussels Central Station on Wednesday afternoon under escort from the police.
Some demonstrators are calling for an end to violence that has marred the protests south of the border. There were also calls for demonstrators not to cover their faces.
