American singer-songwriter Sombr is coming to Rock Werchter next year, the festival has announced. The singer is one of the rising stars of the moment. He will perform on the Main Stage on Sunday 4 July. On that day, Tame Impala will close the festival, as previously announced.
“It’s the fourth of July.” These are the opening words of his latest hit ‘My body isn’t ready’, but on 4 July 2027, fans will be singing those words even louder. That’s when Sombr will take to the Main Stage at the Belgian rock festival Rock Werchter in Flemish Brabant.
Sombr’s real name is Shane Boose and he’s from New York. In early 2025, he made an international breakthrough with the single ‘Back to Friends’, which immediately earned him an MTV Video Music Award for ‘Best Alternative’. The song also became the sixth most-streamed track of 2025 worldwide.
Things have been moving fast for the 21-year-old singer ever since. In less than a year, he became one of the biggest names in pop right now. His debut album ‘I barely know her’, featuring hits including ‘12 to 12’ and ‘Undressed’, was an instant hit with fans.
2026 was the year he cemented his status, with hits like ‘Homewrecker’ and ‘My Body Isn’t Ready’. Earlier this year, he sold out the Brussels concert venue AB, and last summer he performed on the Main Stage at the Limburg rock festival Pukkelpop. In May 2027, he’ll be performing at the AFAS Dome in Antwerp.
Rock Werchter 2027 takes place from Thursday 1 July to Sunday 4 July. Previously it was announced that the Australian band Tame Impala will close the festival.
Sombr is now joining the line-up for the festival’s final day. Ticket sales start on Friday 30 October.
