Belgian police have released fresh drone images displaying the devastation wreaked by the fire that ravaged the High Fens in eastern Belgium last summer.
The fires destroyed 3,200 hectares of nature last August. Minor fires sometimes reignite as the peat is still smoldering. 6 hectares of vegetation were recently destroyed by such a blaze. The public at large is still barred from the area to allow the fire service to continue its efforts and allow the vegetation to return.
