Today is set to be the hottest day of the week, with highs of up to 35 degrees Celsius. But it’s set to remain swelteringly hot for the rest of the week too. Until next week, temperatures in central parts won’t drop below 25 degrees.
Today will be sunny all day, with a few cumulus clouds here and there. It will be warm, with maximum temperatures of 30 to 32 degrees in the Ardennes and on the coast, 32 to 34 degrees elsewhere, and possibly even 35 degrees along the French border and in the Kempen District tucked up against the Dutch border.
The wind will start off light from the south, veering south-west and becoming moderate at times, with a chance of a light sea breeze in the course of the afternoon.
Tonight expect clear skies. Overnight, it will be partly to occasionally overcast, with minimum temperatures of 15 to 21 degrees. The wind, which will be mostly light and moderate on the coast, will blow from the south to south-west.
The hot days ahead
Tomorrow will start sunny with high altitude cloud. Cumulus clouds will develop inland as the day progresses. These may bring a few (possibly thundery) showers, particularly in Luxembourg and Liège provinces, although the thundery activity is likely to be fairly limited. Maximum temperatures will range from 23 degrees near the coast to 32 degrees in the Kempen.
On Friday, sunny spells and patchy cloud will alternate, and it will remain dry almost everywhere. Maximum temperatures will range from 22 degrees on the coast to around 27 degrees in central parts.
It won’t cool down over the weekend either. On Saturday, following possible morning mist, temperatures will reach 26 degrees in central parts. A local shower cannot be ruled out. Sunday will be even warmer and fairly sunny, with maximum temperatures of around 29 to 30 degrees inland.
