Waterstones to open second English-language bookshop in Brussels

The British bookshop chain Waterstones has unveiled plans to open a new bookshop on the Louisalaan in Elsene (Brussels) by the end of 2026. The store will span two floors, stocked exclusively with English-language books.

Waterstones now has more than 300 shops, mainly in the United Kingdom. It already has a presence in Brussels with its well-known bookshop on the Adolphe Maxlaan in the city centre.

The new shop on the Louisalaan promises to offer an extensive range of fiction and non-fiction, children’s books, stationery and games. It is set to open in October 2026 in time for Christmas.

An average Waterstones shop stocks around 30,000 individual titles. This means that lovers of English-language books are in for a real treat. Earlier this year, Passa Porta also opened a second branch specialising in English-language books on Dansaertstraat in the City of Brussels.
