New rail service to link Antwerp and Ghent with Amsterdam and Paris

The Dutch railway company GoVolta is launching a new train service in December between Amsterdam and Paris, with stops in Antwerp and Ghent.

Published:

GoVolta is a new company founded last year and already operates a service between Amsterdam Central and Berlin six times a week.

From 14 December, a daily train will be added between Amsterdam Central and Paris-Nord, via Antwerp Central and Ghent Sint-Pieters. For Ghent, this is the first international train service in years. The train does not run via Brussels and avoids the overloaded line between Antwerp and the capital.

The service will use refurbished I10 carriages that were previously in service with the NMBS. The journey from Amsterdam to Paris will take around seven hours. The train departs from Amsterdam at around 8.00 and arrives in Paris at around 15.00. The return journey leaves Paris at around 16.00.

Ticket sales start today, with prices starting at €19.
