To mark the birthdays of Filip, King of Belgians, and Princess Eléonore, his youngest daughter, the Royal Palace has shared a new photo. The King and his daughter celebrate their birthdays on 15 and 16 April respectively. In the photo, they are sitting amongst the daffodils in the garden of Laken Castle, their home. It is a photo that bears a striking resemblance to the one taken 10 years ago also on the occasion of their birthday.

The new photo is clearly a nod to 2016. To mark King Filip’s 56th and Eléonore’s 8th birthdays, the Palace shared a photo accompanied by a short video. In that video, Princess Eléonore could be seen in the royal garden, surrounded by colourful daffodils. They wished everyone sharing their birthday a happy birthday and much joy.
Princess Eléonore speaks fluent French, Dutch and English and attended the Heilig-Hartcollege in Tervuren (Flemish Brabant). Since the summer of 2023, she has been studying at the International School of Brussels, where lessons are entirely in English. Belgium's Anglophile princess plays the violin and enjoys skiing, sailing and tennis. She is active in the scouts movement and does occasional voluntary work
