Dancing cows attract large crowds in Limburg! (VIDEO)

At Tievis Farm in Opglabbeek (Oudsbergen - Limburg), the annual ‘cow dance’ attracted a large crowd of well-wishers at the weekend. After five months of being cooped up in the cowshed, the cows were finally allowed back into the meadow, resulting in some remarkable scenes of prancing and rolling animals.

Spring doesn’t just make people happy; animals too feel it. The swallows cheerfully show off their flying skills, whilst cows belonging to farmer Johan of the Tievis Farm in Oudsbergen are finally allowed out into the meadow after five long months in the cowshed.

“The cows are so excited they are finally able to go outside again,” says farmer Johan Janssen.  “They went into the barn on 16 November last year, so it’s high time they can go back outside. They too can tell: the weather is better, the grass is green and the swallows are back.”

As soon as Johan opened the cowshed doors, the spectacle began. The cows stormed into the pasture, where they jumped, skipped and rolled around in the fresh grass, full of joy.

The large crowd that had turned up clearly enjoyed the spectacle.
