Since the start of the war in the Middle East, the security situation in Lebanon has deteriorated significantly. The pressure on the emergency service there has become enormous.

The money released by the Flemish Government will enable the Flemish Red Cross to offer support to its Lebanese counterpart for 4 months. It will cover operational costs such as fuel and ambulance maintenance.

According to the Lebanese authorities, the war between Hezbollah and Israel has left more than 1,300 people dead and over a million displaced within the country. Those displaced have left their homes following evacuation orders issued by Israel and Israeli army bombardments.

They are fleeing evacuation orders and Israeli army bombardments.
