The Fire Service in the East Flemish municipality of Waasmuster have rescued a horse that was stuck in a swimming pool in the garden of a house. Firefighters were able to winch the horse that weighs 600kg out of the pool.
The incident happened late on Thursday afternoon in the garden of a house on the Neerstraat in Waasmunster. The stallion had escaped from his stable and had ended up in the swimming pool that is located in the back garden of the house.
As the animal was not able to get out of the pool under its own steam the Fire Service was called to help.

The rescue operation was complex due to the weight of the horse. Firefighters used specialised equipment to lift the animals out of the pool safely. Despite the difficult circumstances, they managed to get the stallion back on dry land relatively quickly.
After the rescue, the horse was immediately returned to its stable. An initial medical examination found that the animal suffered no injuries. The stallion was able to warm up and dry off in the peace and tranquility of its stable under the supervision of its relieved owners.
