The Federal Government has decided its withdraw its plan to increase the rate of VAT levied on tickets sports, culture and takeaway meals. Last week, the Council of State strongly criticised the plans that were contained in the budget agreement that was concluded just before Christmas.
Vincent Van Peteghem told VRT News that “All the absurdities in the proposal have been removed. It was clear that this proposal was full of exceptions and absurdities. It is important that we keep to simple reforms. We will discuss this further after the spring half-term holidays”.
