Missing Belgian’s car keys and teeth found in Tasmania

Police in Tasmania, an island and state of Australia, have found more human remains near Waratah. Car keys were also found, which according to the police belong to Céline Cremer. The 31-year-old from Liège (Belgium) has been missing since June 2023.

According to investigator Nathan Johnston, a 350-metre stretch of the Arthur River was searched on Sunday and yesterday. During the search, ‘five additional bones, two teeth and a Honda car key’ were found, Johnston said. The police have confirmed that the car keys belong to Cremer.

Cremer was last seen on 17 June 2023 in the town of Waratah, about ten kilometres from the walk to Philosopher Falls. Her car was found in a car park at the start of the walk.

It is believed that she left the trail, became lost and was unable to find her way back. Several attempts were made to find her, but on 10 July, the police decided to suspend the search due to heavy rainfall and the inhospitable terrain.

During a new search in December 2025 led by private detective Ken Gamble, in which four of the woman's friends also participated, one of the volunteers suddenly came across a Samsung device with a lilac cover, her mobile phone. A water bottle was also found. Volunteers and relatives of the missing woman continued the search, after which human remains were found.
