BNP Paribas Fortis working hard to rectify double payments following IT problem

BNP Paribas Fortis confirmed yesterday that a series of payments made on 1, 2 and 3 February were charged twice or more to some customers. According to the bank, this affected 40,000 transactions. It is not known exactly how many people were affected by the error.

The bank has apologised for the inconvenience. In the meantime, work is still underway to rectify the errors. According to spokeswoman Hilde Junius, the affected file is being rectified in phases. The issue should be fully resolved in the course of the day.
