A 39-year-old man from Ranst (Antwerp Province) is in custody in France following his arrest on suspicion of sexual offences. The man is accused of the sexual assault of his friends’ 13-year-old son during a trip to the Disneyland Paris theme park in Marne-la-Vallée (Seine-et-Marne). The Antwerp Prosecutor’s Office says that further investigation will be carried out here in Belgium. The man worked for Scouts and Guides Flanders. His contract of employment was terminated as soon as the allegations came to light.

The alleged sexual assault took place in December 2025 and was reported in the French press. However, it wasn’t until now that it has emerged that both the suspect and the victim are Belgians.
The alleged offence took place at a hotel near to the theme park. The Antwerp Prosecutor’s Office has requested that the suspect be transferred to Belgium. French prosecutors have agreed that further investigation into the alleged sexual assault will be carried out here in Belgium.
The suspect worked for Scouts and Guides Flanders. His former employer said in a statement that it terminated his contract of employment as soon as it was informed of the alleged offence.
