Strike continues to cause disruption to rail services

As the week-long rail strike enters its second day, the Belgian rail operator NMBS is once again operating an “alternative timetable”. Disruption is reported to be about the same as it was on Monday.

Published:

Today (Tuesday 27 January) 75% of intercity (IC) services are running. Meanwhile, two-thirds of suburban (S) and stopping (L) services are running. The lion’s share of rush hour P-train services are cancelled.

Full details of which services are running can be found on NMBS’ website.

Greater disruption to services expected on Wednesday

NMBS says that the disruption to its services will be more severe tomorrow (Wednesday 28 January) than has been the case today. On Wednesday two-thirds of intercity (IC) services will run between the country’s biggest cities.

Around half of stopping services (L-train) and suburban (S-train) services will run. As is the case today few rush-hour (P-train) services will run on Wednesday.
