The rail operator European Sleeper has announced that it is to launch a new sleeper train service between Brussels and the German city of Hamburg. From this July, Hamburg will be added to European Sleeper’s new Paris-Brussels-Berlin route.
The Paris to Berlin (via Brussels) service will launch at the end of March. The service will run three times a week. From July a stop in Hamburg will be added to the service.
The new Paris to Berlin service will also call at Brussels, bringing the total number of night sleeper services between Brussels and Berlin to 6 per week. European Sleeper already operates 3 services a week from Brussels to Berlin and onwards to Dresden and Prague. The company says that route should become “operationally profitable” this year.
In addition to the new services to Berlin, European Sleeper also plans to a new overnight service between Brussels and Milan (via Switzerland).
In addition to European Sleeper, the Austrian railway company ÖBB also operates sleeper services from Brussels to Vienna.
