The Brussels Christmas market attracted more than 4.3 million between 28 November 2025 and 4 January 2026. This is an increase of 3% on visitor numbers for Winter Wonders 2024. The figures were released by the City of Brussels at a press conference held on Wednesday.
The annual Brussels end of year event attracted a total of 4,355,253 visitors, some of whom visited it on multiple occasions. 1.5 million visits were made by people that live in the Brussels-Capital Region. 1.17 million visits to Winter Wonders were made by people from Flanders and Wallonia. The remaining 1.63 million visits to the Christmas market and other Winter Wonders attractions were made by people from abroad.
A large portion of the foreign visitors came from the UK, France and Spain. However, a good number of visitors from Poland, Portugal and China also travelled to our capital city to enjoy its Christmas market. The Mayor of Brussels Philippe Close (Francophone socialist) says that he is very satisfied with the number of visitors.
The American international news broadcaster CNN broadcast a report on Winter Wonders and there was also a long article about the event in ‘The Washington Post’.
Most of the people from elsewhere in Belgium that visited the capital’s Christmas market came from Flemish Brabant, Hainaut and East Flanders. There was also an increase in the number of visitors from Walloon Brabant. As in previous years, the most visited attraction at Winter Wonders was the ice rink. Almost 50,000 visits were made to the outdoor skating rink.
Winter Wonders 2026 will start on Friday 27 November and run until Sunday 3 January 2027.
