Thailand is to become the third country outside of Belgium to play host to a Tomorrowland dance music festival. Previously Tomorrowland festivals were held in the French Alps and Brazil. Every year hundreds of thousands of dance music lovers flock to the De Schorre Provincial Estate in Boom (Antwerp Province) where the main Tomorrowland festival has been held each year (with the exception 2020 and 2021) since 2004. What started off as a 1-day festival is now held over 2 weekends in late July.
The Tomorrowland festival in Thailand will take place at Wisdom Valley in Pattaya. Around 50,000 people are expected to attend.
Following its success here in Belgium, Brazil and the French Alps, this will be Tomorrowland’s first full festival in Asia. Ticket sales will follow the usual pre-registration system with registration starting this Thursday (8 January). The festival is scheduled to be held from 11 to 13 December.
There will be no campsite at the Thai Tomorrowland festival site. Instead, Tomorrowland will offer a range of accommodation options nearby, with shuttle buses to and from the venue.
The theme of the festival and its full line-up have not yet been announced. The festival organisers have already confirmed that popular Tomorrowland stages such as Core and Freedom will be at the festival. New stages and special experiences will also be created for the Thai audience.
Organisers say the choice of Thailand reflects the country’s growing role in music, tourism and large-scale cultural events.
