A burglar has been caught after he drank 16 bottles of Duvel (a type of strong beer ed.) and fell asleep on the billiard table at the Kriekenhof Church Hall, in the Deurne-Zuid area of Antwerp. Even when the police arrived the man refused to leave the church hall under his own steam. He was taken away for questioning. During the break-in the main entrance door to the church hall was damaged.
The burglar gained entry to church hall by forcing the main entrance door. When he was found he had already drunk 16 bottles of Duvel.
The burglar fell asleep on a billiard table. When the police arrived at around midday. They found the man in the toilets. He refused to leave the church hall. The police officers drafted a crime report and to the drunken man with them to sober up a cell at the police station.
