Delhaize recalls its celeriac velouté soup

The supermarket chain Delhaize is withdrawing its 600g pots of “celeriac velouté with truffle” from sale due to a packaging error. Rather than containing celeriac velouté, the pots contain lobster soup. This could pose a threat to unsuspecting customers with shellfish allergies if they were to eat the soup.

The product that has been withdrawn has the EAN code 5400119535748 and with a eat by date of 01/01/2026. It was on sale between 9 December and 16 December.

Delhaize is asking customers that are allergic to shellfish not to consume it and to return it to a point of sale, where they will be refunded.

Those who are not allergic to or intolerant of shellfish can consume the product without risk, Delhaize says in a press statement.
