Police ask public’s help to find missing breathalyser

Police in the Zandhoven and Ranst area of Antwerp province are appealing for help in locating a breathalyser that disappeared during alcohol checks in Ranst. ‘If anyone in the Ranst area has found the device, kindly bring it back to the police station,’ the local force said.

‘During winter alcohol checks, our team was unexpectedly called away for an urgent intervention. In the rapid switch to that prioritised intervention, a DRÄGER sampling device may have been left behind at the scene,’ a police statement on social media reads.

The police do not wish to comment further, but they do say that it is an expensive device that is frequently used. They therefore hope that the finder attaches importance to road safety and decides to return the device.
