New sleeper service between Brussels and Milan from June next year

A Belgian-Dutch private rail company European Sleeper has announced that it is to launch a new sleeper service between Brussels and the Italian city of Milan from next June. The service will call at stations in Switzerland en route to Italy’s fashion capital.

Published:

The planned launch date for the new service is 18 June. Trains will run between both Brussels and Amsterdam to Milan.

The two trains will be joined together during a stop in the German city of Cologne on the way to Milan and split there on their return journey. They will travel through Switzerland with stops in cities that include the capital Bern. In Italy the train will call at Stresa and Lago Maggiore before reaching its final destination Milan.

European Sleeper intends to run the service three times a week.

Currently European Sleeper operates a service from Brussels via Amsterdam to Berlin, Dresden and Prague. In March it will launch a service between Paris and Berlin that will call in Brussels.

In a addition to European Sleeper’s sleeper service the Austrian rail company ÖBB’s Nightjet sleeper service runs between Brussels and Vienna.
