15°C this week as mild oceanic air arrives in our climes

Monday could be the warmest 8 December in Belgium since records began with temperatures reaching 14 degrees Celsius. ‘The reason? Very mild oceanic air is crossing the country,’ explains weather forecaster Sabine Hagedoren. Several temperature records could also be broken in the coming days, both at night and in the evening.

Last night was the mildest 7 December night since 1952. ‘The mercury did not drop below 12 degrees in Ukkel,’ says weather forecaster Sabine. ‘And we expect high temperatures in the coming days and nights as well.’

Monday will be an exceptionally mild December day, with highs of up to 14 degrees. The wind will be fairly strong at the coast, with gusts of up to 50 kilometres per hour.

It will be changeable or mostly cloudy with some rain or showers. After midday, it may rain more heavily, especially in the north-western half of the country.
