Property developer Global Estate Group is starting work on an apartment block on the Tervurenlaan in Brussels. The first units are expected to be ready by the summer of 2027, Brussels media outlet Bruzz reports. 21 flats are planned in all, each with a starting price of 1.5 million euros.
Global Estate Group has big plans for an apartment block on the Tervurenlaan, in the proximity of the Merode metro station in Etterbeek. Since the early 1950s, a building designed by architects André and Jean Polak and Jacques Saintenoy with 18 apartments has stood here. The West Flemish property developer wants to renovate and expand the building under the name “La Réserve”.
The property will have an extra floor with two penthouses. The other flats will be spread over five floors and the ground floor. These will be two- or three-room flats with their own garden or terrace. After the work is completed, the building will have a total of 21 units, three more than today.
‘La Réserve will combine heritage, timeless architecture and contemporary living comfort,’ says Luc Beke, owner of Global Estate Group. ‘This project perfectly demonstrates what Global Estate Group stands for: urban renewal with character and respect for both the past and the future.’
View of the Triumphal Arch
Offices and commercial spaces will be located on the ground floor along the street side. In addition to an underground car park, a spacious bicycle parking facility is also planned. The typical rounded façade will be retained and the steel lift will be restored to its former glory.
‘We are reviving the elegance of the 1950s by allowing the past and present to blend together naturally,’ explains Kathleen Dewulf of Global Estate Group. ‘Living here means waking up and looking out from your living room or terrace at the Jubel Park and its famous Triumphal Arch.’
‘The view, the proximity to the European quarter and the future American embassy, combined with the best the city has to offer in terms of leisure activities, places this unique project in the top segment of the Brussels real estate market,’ says Dewulf.
All this comes with a hefty price tag: the “cheapest” apartments in La Réserve will be on sale for 1.46 million euros. People who can afford it will be able to move in from the summer of 2027 onwards.
