Raphaël Collignon started Tuesday's play with a hard-fought comeback, He beat Corentin Moutet in three sets 2-6, 7-5, 7-5. Zizou Bergs then secured victory for the Red Aces by beating Arthur Rinderknech in two sets 6-3, 7-6 (7-4).

Belgium will face either Italy or Austria in their semi-final that will be played on Friday. Italy will be without their top stars Jannik Sinner and Lorenzo Musetti.

Tuesday’s win is the continuation of an impressive run by the Red Aces. In September, they beat Australia away to reach the Final 8. This year’s semi-final place is the first for Belgium since 2018. Belgium were twice runners-up in the Davis Cup in 2015 and 2017.

The win against France was Belgium first Davis Cup victory in five meetings with our southern neighbours.
