Brussels Airport has announced that no flights will depart from Zaventem during the national strike on Wednesday 26 November. The airport also expects disruption to incoming flights.
Brussels Airport’s spokesman Jeffrey Franssens told journalists that "In order to guarentee the safety of passengers and staff and to prevent long queues from forming, the airport has decided to cancel all departing passenger flights on that day. A total of 206 departing flights will be affected”.
The impact on flights arriving at the airport will be less severe. Nevertheless, the airport says that some cancellations are possible.
Brussels Airport currently does not expect any disruption during the two other days on which the unions plan strike action on public transport (Monday 24 and Tuesday 25 November).
