The telecom provider Proximus has announced that it is to increase the price of a number of its products from the start of next year. The older bundles offered by the part state-owned telecom firm in particular will be subject to price increases from 1 January. Proximus says that the price increases are necessary due to “persistent increases in costs” for wages and material.
In the main, Proximus’ older products and packs that it no longer markets will be impacted by the price increases. These included Flex, Tuttimus, Familus and epic. The price increases range from 2 to 4 euro per month. Meanwhile, customers with a wired internet subscription will see their bills rise by 3 euro/month.
Proximus’ Mobile XS and Mobilus S mobile phone tariff plans will become 1 euro/month more expensive from 1 January next year. The price of other tariff plans will remain the same.
Those that subscribe to Proximus’ landline telephone service will have to pay 1.5 euro/month more from the start of next year. However, most people with a landline phone have it in a pack that includes (for example) internet, television and/or mobile phones.
Scarlet also to increase prices
Proximus’ low-cost brand Scarlet is also to increase its prices. The price of the Scarlet Trio Fix bundle that includes internet, TV and a landline will increase from 42 to 45 euro/month. The Trio Mobile and Scarlet will remain at their current price.
