Pope Leo XIV received Filip, King of Belgians, and Queen Mathilde at the Vatican for their first audience yesterday.
Queen Mathilde was dressed in white. This is a prerogative of the wives of Roman Catholic heads of state. The Belgian royals were also present at Pope Leo’s inauguration last May.
