A 10-year-old girl has died after falling off her bicycle in the Brussels municipality of Vorst. No other vehicle was involved in the tragic accident that happened on the Victor Rousseaulaan on Sunday afternoon.
At around 3pm on Sunday the emergency services were called out to an accident on the Victor Rousseaulaan in Vorst. The Brussels South Local Police Service reports that a 10-year-old girl had fallen off her bicycle and died of her injuries at the scene. The press agency Belga reports that the girl had been cycling downhill in what is a very steep street and had been unable to brake. No other vehicle was involved.
The girl’s mother was with her when the accident happened. Her father rushed to the scene when he heard the heard the news. The Mayor of Vorst Charles Spapens (Francophone socialist) also went to the scene of accident to offer his support to the family.
