Some Peugeot, Citroën, DS, Opel, Lancia, Alfa Romeo and Fiat cars are being recalled. Loose nuts could cause fuel to leak into a high-pressure pipe. This could lead to higher fuel consumption and in the worst case, cause the vehicle to catch fire.

Stellantis says that the recall is a precautionary measure and that no incidents have yet been reported. Normally, a vehicles service light would come if there were a problem.

According to Stellantis the owners of all affected have received a letter. The company says problem can be fixed within half an hour by tightening the nut connections.

In July, it was announced that Stellantis had to recall approximately 117,000 diesel cars in Belgium due to potential engine problems. Prior to that, thousands of vehicles had to be returned to the garage due to possible issues with Takata airbags.
