Parking rates in the City of Brussels will increase significantly from 1 September, almost doubling. For example, parking for two hours in a green zone will cost €5.50 from September, compared to €3 currently. Parking for two hours in a grey or red zone will increase from €5 to €9.20.
The City of Brussels explains the hike means it is joining 12 other Brussels municipalities that apply rates set at the regional level.
The higher rates are part of new parking regulations approved by Brussels City Council in June that will come into force in several phases. In July, parking times and rates for resident cards and parking fines were changed. At the beginning of 2026, the number of free visitor cards for residents will be doubled to twenty.
