The Brussels West Local Police Service reports that there has been another firearms incident in Sint-Jans-Molenbeek. This time the front of a house has been shot at.
Just before midnight on Thursday police received a called from a resident of the Paalstraat, near to the centre of Molenbeek. They reported that there were several bullet holes in the façade of their house.
When police arrived at the scene, they were unable to find the person that had fired the shots. There was also no trace of anyone that might have been injured in the incident. The Brussels public prosecutor's office was notified and an investigation has been opened.
Since the start of the summer, there have been 21 shootings in Brussels. So far this year there have been 58 firearms incidents in the capital. Many of the shootings that have occurred in recent weeks and months are linked to drug trafficking.
