The supermarket chain Colruyt is re-calling a batch of Camembert cheese amid fears that it may be contaminated with listeria bacteria. Meanwhile, Carrefour is recalling several of its prepacked fish products as it fears that they might also be contaminated. Listeria monocytogenes infection can cause symptoms that include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and fever.
Colruyt recalls cheese, Carrefour recalls fish amid fears of listeria contamination

In France many kinds of cheese are being recalled following the discovery of listeria bacteria. Several of the cheeses that are being recalled in France are also on sale here.
Here in Belgium the supermarket chain Colruyt is recalling a batch of its own-brand Everyday camembert cheese. Hélène Bonte of the Federal Food Safety Agency (FAVV) told VRT News that "The cheese was sold at Colruyt, Okay and Comarkt supermarkets."
FAVV is also recalling Buchette de Chèvre goat’s cheese manufactured by Fleur de pré. This is sold in various shops and supermarkets.
Ms Bonte went on to say that "Together with our French colleagues we are looking into whether other contaminated French products could be on sale in shops here”.
Fish
Listeria has also been found in fish products that are on sale at Carrefour supermarkets and convenience stores. The affected products are Carrefour’s own brand 'Fish&Chips’ cod fillets battered cod fillets and Japanese dab filets meunière.
Customers are requested not to eat any of the above-mentioned products and to take them back to the shop where they will be given a full refund. The products have been removed from the shelves.
