Union calls on airport staff to boycott flights to Tel Aviv

The Christian trade union ACV Puls/CNE is calling on its members that work at Brussels Airport in Zaventem (Flemish Brabant) not to handle flights destined for Israel. Those that what the union describes as “refuse to be involved in the normalisation of relations with Israel” will receive full backing from ACV Puls/CNE.

Brussels Airlines announced some time ago that it would resume flights from Zaventem to Tel Aviv on Wednesday 13 August. Flights between Brussels Airport and Isreal have been suspended since May for security reasons.

The Christian trade union says that the idea of refusing to work on flights destined for or arriving from Israel comes from some of the workforce at Brussels Airport. “‘Many staff at the airport have issues with loading planes flying to Israel.”

The union says that this is the case among airport staff of all religions and backgrounds. The union adds that any of its members that refuse to work on flights to or from Isreal will receive its full backing. It also call from a boycott of flights to and from Tel Aviv.
