A radio presenter that worked for the commercial radio station Play Nostalgie is suspected of possessing images of sexual abuse of children. VRT News sources have confirmed that a criminal investigation is currently underway against Bart D.R. The oldies station Play Nostalgie has terminated his contract of employment.
Radio presenter suspected of possession of images of the sexual abuse of children

At the start of last month a criminal investigation was launched into allegations that Bart D.R. was in possession of a large number images showing the sexual abuse of minors. He was detained and questioned, but the Examining Magistrate leading the investigation granted him conditional bail pending further investigation.
It was Bart D.R.’s wife, who is a journalist here at VRT News, that had reported him to the police after she had discovered the images.
The Brussels prosecutor’s office is refraining from comment about the case for the time being. Lawyer Davina Simons, who is representing Bart D.S. also will await the conclusion of the investigation before commenting further.
Contract terminated
Until Bart D.R. presented the morning show the commercial oldies staties Play Nostalgie. The company that owns Play Nostalgie Mediahuis said in a statement that “We are aware of the investigation that is underway into Bart. At the beginning of July Bart decided to give up his post. His contract had been terminated in mutual agreement. Mediahuis and Place Nostaligie are not involved in the case. We don’t have any further information and won’t be making any further comment. We trust that judicary will do its work”.
Before leaving to join Play Nostalgie in 2023 Bart D.R. worked for many years for the VRT radio station MNM.
