High speed trains between Brussels and Paris are running normal again following Monday’s disruption. A power cut northeast of Paris led to cancellations and delays of around two hours to services into the French capital from the north. TGV services from Brussels to other destinations beyond Paris were also disrupted.
At around 8:30am on Monday a power cut around 50km northeast of Paris led to the closure of the high-speed rail line between the French capital and the north.
Numerous services were cancelled and the services that did run were diverted onto the standard rail network, resulting in delays of around 2 hours on the Brussels to Paris route.
Still some issues
Engineers worked through the night to restore power and power has indeed been restored. Nevertheless, 2 trains were cancelled on Tuesday morning and 3 services suffered delays of up to an hour.
The high-speed rail operator Eurostar says that services have now returned to normal.
