Eurostar and TGV services to and from Paris disrupted due to power supply issues

There is severe disruption to rail services between Belgium and French capital due to a power cut north of Paris. Some of the high-speed rail lines to the French capital have been partially closed and this has led to serious disruption to TGV, Eurostar, Ouigo an INOUI services to and from Paris.

Eurostar says that it has cancelled at least 16 services and that services that are running are subject to delays of almost 2 hours. 2 trains on the Brussels to Paris route have turned back. Eurostar is asking passengers to postpone their journies and says that tickets will either be reimbursed or exchanged free of charge.

Trains to Paris and other destinations in France are using other lines than the high-speed rail line. This is leading to delays across the French rail network.

Eurostar services between London and Brussels, London and Amsterdam and Brussel and Amsterdam are not suffering delays.

The power cut happened at around 8:30 am at Moussy northeast of Paris. The French rail company SNCF says that given its scale the repair work won’t be completed until late on Monday evening. It is still unclear when rail services will resume in full.
