The large number of passengers using the airport today is at least in part due to the end of the holiday period in some industries and the start of the annual vacation period in others. Furthermore, the end of the second (and final) weekend of the Tomorrowland music festival means that many of the festival’s foreign visitors are flying home today.

During July and August Brussels Airport expects a total of 5.1 million passengers at Zaventem.

Arrive at the airport in plenty of time

Brussels Airport advises passengers booked on flights from Zaventem to arrive at the airport in time and to reserve a parking space in advance.

Brussels Airport’s spokeswoman Ihsane Chioua Lekhli told VRT News that "The most important thing is to get to airport in time. You don’t need to come earlier."

Passenger are advised to read the rules on which items are not permitted in hand luggage prior to leaving for the airport in order to ensure that they are able to pass through security checks quickly.
