The attack with a corrosive product happened around 4.30pm on Tuesday. "The man was doused with it," says police spokesman Wouter Bruyns.
"He had parked his car in front of the man’s residence. The man had been getting more and more annoyed about parking offenders in front of his door. The victim had not parked his car correctly and wanted quickly to run an errand. The suspect then doused him with a caustic liquid."
The victim is not in a critical condition. "The man sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. The suspect will appear before an investigating judge, who will decide whether or not he will remain under arrest," Officer Bruyns noted.
