Today will be hot, with highs between 31 and 34 degrees Celsius in most regions of Belgium. Only the coast will be slightly cooler, with temperatures rising to 28 degrees today. With the exception of the coast, a code yellow warning applies for heat across the country.

Today will start sunny, but cumulus clouds may form in a few places in the afternoon. There’s a little chance of local thundery showers in the south of the country.

Tonight it will remain dry, with lows hovering between 17 and 22 degrees.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, temperatures will rise further. On Tuesday, highs will be around 29 or 30 degrees on the coast, 30 to 33 degrees in the Ardennes and 32 to 36 degrees elsewhere (or very locally even warmer). It also remains very warm at night with lows around or just above 20 degrees in most major cities.

On Wednesday, 35 degrees is forecast in much of the country. Locally, 37 or 38 degrees is not out of the question. In coastal areas, it will remain cooler at 26 degrees. It will be fairly sunny once again, but the more unstable air will cause a few thunderstorms in the evening and at night.
