Heat warnings issued for the rest of the week by the Belgian Met Office predominantly feature the colour amber.
On Wednesday, almost the whole country will turn amber. However, a code yellow warning applies in historic Flanders, the provinces of West Flanders and East Flanders, on Wednesday. The coast remains cooler and no heat warnings apply there.
The Met Office says people are advised to drink regularly, spend the day in a cooler place, eat easily digestible food and keep doors and windows closed to protect against the heat.
