Today’s National Day of Action is having a big impact on public transport in the Brussels-Capital Region. With a large portion of drivers that work for the Brussels public transport company MIVB taking strike action, many bus, tram and metro services in Brussels have been cancelled.
Just a handful of MIVB’s bus, tram and metro routes are running, often to a (much) reduced timetable.
The following services are running.
Metro: Line 1 that is extended between Weststation and Erasmus.
Tram: Routes 4, 7, 8, 9, 10, 51, 55 are running
Bus: Routes 12 (Airport Line), 36, 46, 50, 53, 54, 59, 65, 71, 73, 87 and 95 are running. Route 87 has been extended between Simonis and Zwarte Vijvers.
All other bus, tram and metro services are not running.
Passengers are advised to eek alternative modes of transport. MIVB’s Contact Center can answer any questions that passengers might have. It can be contacted on 02/5638917. Realtime information can be found on MIVB’s website or the public transport company’s app, WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram accounts.
