The court found Eddy Snelders guilty of most of crimes of which he was accused. However, he was acquitted on charges of the possession of child pornography.

When passing sentence, the judge said that Eddy Snelders’ crimes were “very serious, totally reprehensible, showing total lack of respect for the integrity of the victims".

“He spied on his family, relatives, guests, friends and acquaintances”

“This led a far-reaching breach of trust and lasting distress to the victims. He put his own desires first, without considering the consequences, consequences that the victims carry with them forever."

The court also weighed heavily on the fact that Eddy Snelders knew he had a problem but never sought appropriate help.

"These are very serious, totally reprehensible offences”, the Judge said.
