Woofstock: from dog yoga to dog beer at Brussels dog festival

Brussels hosted the Woofstock dog festival last weekend. Owners were welcome in the Elisabeth Park for workshops, demonstrations and lectures, all about their four-legged friends. ‘Above all, it is a meeting place for dog lovers,’ says organiser Leslie Moreau.

The organisers say it’s the first dog festival in Brussels. ‘This is already our second edition,’ she proudly notes. ‘Last year it was a real success. People come to learn and have fun, but above all it is a meeting place for dog lovers. We want to bring people together to celebrate the special bond between man and dog.’

Some of the offerings included: a market, a swimming pool for dogs, dog yoga and a workshop to learn how to massage your dog. ‘We even have a ‘doggy bar’ with dog beer, non-alcoholic of course,’ says Leslie, laughing. ‘The police also held workshops on obedience and they explained how drug dogs work.’
