The thunderstorm was very localised with the Fire Service being called out to flood-related issues in several streets in and around Zottegem. The lion’s share of the calls came from the Strijpen and Sint-Goriks-Oudenhove areas.

Jonathan Jouret of the Flemish Ardennes Fire Service told VRT News that "We received several calls. They concerned flooded streets, water infiltration in houses and there were also some flooded basements”.

Mud

Calls were still coming in on Tuesday morning to concerning mud that had been left behind by the storm. "There is mud in some streets. There is also mud on the driveways of houses, but there we are not allowed to clean it up”.
