A video from the Jordanian Meteorological Institute shows the flash floods hitting the city yesterday. Visitors rushed to the entrance of the famous Al-Khazneh tomb in Petra in anticipation of their evacuation. Eventually, 1,800 tourists were brought to safety.

A Belgian woman and her 3 children were visiting the Shoubak region as part of a trip organised for tourists. The family went missing in the heavy floods.
